The European Dental Students Association (EDSA) was founded in Paris in November 1988.

Now, the EDSA represents over 65,000 dental students in the European region.

Twice a year, all the delegates of the European Dental Students Association come together to brainstorm for new projects and keep improving the existing. Furthermore, they discuss dental politics, social and domestic affairs. Representatives of the national members (full and prospective) attend these general assemblies.

From 31 Aug - 6 Sep 2008, we; Mr. Tomaz Spindler, Mr. Amir El-Kholi and Mr. Paolo Gallesi have attended the EDSA – ADEE (Association for Dental Education in Europe) joint-congress in Zagreb hosted by the Dental Students Association of Zagreb University representing the IADS.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the IADS and EDSA as a first and a very important step in the cooperation between both associations. This MoU concentrated on starting 50% cooperation on a Voluntary Work Project as well as sharing the Newsletters, publications and attending each others meetings.

The next IADS-MYM (Mid-Year Meeting) will be a joint meeting with EDSA in Ljubljana, Slovenia in order to strengthen the cooperation between both associations and better introduce the members of both associations to each other.
