Dear IADS Friends all Around the World!

This year we (Juliane Gnoth, Immediate Past President and Dr. Magdalena Maciejowska, Secretary General), had an honor to represent IADS at FDI World Congress in Stockholm 2008.

During that time we were trying to promote our organization in the best way we could.

As so many things happened we will try to present you the main points that might summarize this fruitful time we had.

We:

    * participated in the Nobel press conference and International Speaker Development Programme evening that leads the World to Optimal Oral Health through Knowledge Transfer promoting event in Singapore 2009. Students will get the possibility to apply for a program to become a professional speaker. More info: www.fdiworldental.org/isdp.html

    * participated in Health Diplomacy forum showing uniting dentistry all around the world without borders and without political conflicts - that being the main theme for IADS

    * made an IADS presentation at Education Committee “Knowledge transfer and sharing” that will be placed on our website in FDI corner

    * ran an International Association of Dental Students meeting

    * participated in a fruitful YDW meeting that brought new cooperation and new ideas

    * were present at General Assembly as FDI affiliate member with the right to speak

    * set up new possibilities of voluntary work and new exchange destinations for IADS members

    * had a great time talking to president of American Dental Association, ExCo of Brazilian Dental Association, WHO representative, international speakers

    * met delegates from Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, UK, Pakistan, USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico and others that promised us to promote us among their students

    * talked to many sponsors - which hopefully will bring new cooperation soon

    * distributed our Newsletter

    * talked about possibility of a combined FDI- IADS congress in Brazil 2010

Much more than that, IADS forum was accepted in official Singapore 2009 program.

We also will work on the possibility of joining FDI 2011 in  Mexico , Mexico City .

Lots of new ideas came on that will be discussed with ExCo soon at our next on-line meeting.

We hope we totally rocked Stockholm and left them all with the feel of the amazing IADS spirit!
