Dear friends in all over the world,

Yesterday I arrived from the joined congress of IADS and YDW in Romania and I can say- just my body is drillin, my heart is still in Iasi. The time was amazing from both sides- from the professional point and from the social side. The General Assembly and also the NEO- meeting of IADS was very successfull and I want to thank all the NEOs, delegates and participants who brought their entusiasm, energy and ideas. It is a great pleasure that we accepted the following new members to be part of the great IADS- family:

Dental Society of University Malaya, Malaysia
Suomen hammaslääketieteen opiskelijain liitto ry (Association for Dental Students in Finland)
Nigerian Association of Dental Students
Societatea Studentilor Stomatologi Craiova; Romania
Student Parlament, Faculty of Stomatology, Pancevo, Serbia
And last but not least our first personal member: Adeniyan Adekemi Kikeomo, Ternopil state medical university, Ukraine

Congratulations to all! That means, IADS became 13 new members in just one year, we are proud to welcome you all! The Executive Committee of IADS worked very hard during the last year and our reports (that will be sent by our president to all of you soon) consists of 12 pages full of power and work. We had guests from Work the World and EDSA who joined our General Assembly. The meeting was fruitful and concentrated as usual.

For the congress in 2010 we decided to have a joined meeting with FDI and YDW in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil and we are excited to meet the big IADS family in South America.
The elections of the Executive Committee were not a very big surprise this year. As the EXCO did an amazing job in the last year, they will continue the work. The only person we will miss is our beloved Secretary Magda, my good friend and my background as president and IPP. We wont have to miss her much, as she went just one door further to the EXCO of YDW- besides that I wish her success in her PhD and many times to meet and work together. Big kiss to Magda!!! New in the team is Dr. Goce Naunov who already served the association as the webeditor and who will organize the next Mid Year Meeting in Macedonia

The EXCO 2009-2010 consists of the following:
Tomaz Spindler, President, Slovenia
Zeyad Salem, Secretary General, Egypt
Amir El-Kholi, Treasurer, Egypt
Aneta Filipiuk, IEO, Poland
Goce Naunov, Editor, Macedonia
Juliane Gnoth, IPP, Germany
Congratulations! !!

Besides the meetings of IADS also the General Assembly of Young Dentists Worldwide took place in IASI and as the picture showes- IADS and YDW are closer together as ever. 5 of the 6 elected members of the YDW- EXCO were former IADS- officers including 2 honoray life long members of IADS. The new elected EXCO of YDW for the next 3 years consists of:

Mark Antal, President, Hungary
Magdalena Maciejowska, Secretary General + Health Coordinator, Poland
Andrea Veitova, Treasurer, Czech Republic
Ingmar Dobberstein, Editor, Germany
Ahmed Hawas, International Scientific Officer, Egypt
Juliane Gnoth, Communication Officer

The draft of the new constitution was accepted, the final version will finished at the next meeting in Singapore. All members of the IADS- EXCO were present at the YDW- GA and are now active members of YDW. The next Mid Year Meeting of YDW will take place in Puerto Rico from the 2nd till the 6th of February.

Now I would like to thank the organizers of the precongress in Bukarest, esp. Kiki, Paula, Andreea, Vivi, Irina and others. You did a great job and the organization was wonderful. Also a big Thank you to the team from Iasi, esp.. Ionut, Ciprian, Cosmin, and all who worked so hard to give us a good time. This precongress and congress broke some records I guess: 2 times karaoke, 2 times limbo, 2 times mask- party and I dont speak about the other nights- the Gala, the Romanian night, the Arabic night etc.  It was great, thanks to all of you! It was so well organized, you took care of us all the time and the only problem was to find always the right clothes for so many different events ;)

In the 5 years I am in IADS I see a great development and it is good to see that after 11 meetings I can still be suprised. Thanks to all. As I already quotes last year I still think that the saying from Paolo Coelho fits to IADS- congresses: “When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change. at such a moment, there is no way in pretending that nothing has happened and that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. One week is more than enough time whether or not to accept our destiny.” One congress is enough to accept that we are addicted! :)

Yours Julka

P.S. Special thanks to the folks who gave are great friends or who became great friends in the last week: Mark, Ingmar, Xenia, Candy, Thea, Petra, Kajka, Zizu, Goce, Alex, Konstantinus, Magda, Natasa, Amir, the Polish team....  I love you all!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
