Zanzibar Dental Outreach Project  by Work The World

This is another outreach project in Africa by Work The World, based on the success of  projects in Ghana and India.

The Zanzibar Dental Outreach has a similar format to Ghana and India and involves establishing temporary clinics in village communities around the island. Experienced local dentists will lead the team and students will be working mostly with children, providing screening and much needed dental treatments. The outreach programmes are great for students looking for more hands on experience and are a fantastic way of really getting involved in the community. All referrals are treated by the student team at a specialist clinic not far from the Work the World accommodation.  

We would need 8 students to fulfil this project so please let us know if you are interested. Zanzibar is an island paradise, world famous for its white sand beaches and turquoise seas. At just 60 miles long, Zanzibar is great to explore at weekends.

The programme for 2009 runs from the 6th July to 18th July and in 2010 we are running three, the dates are as follows:

14th June - 27th June
5th July - 18th July
26th July - 8th August
